The second annual Black Tennessee Voices Storytellers Live returns to the National Museum of African American Music in downtown Nashville. Five storytellers from the community will share their personal stories in front of a live audience. They share insight, wisdom and hard truths to engage, inspire and connect with the audience.

Our Storytellers:
  • Patricia Bethel, project & program management senior principal consultant at NTT DATA Services
  • Jill Fitcheard, executive director, Nashville Community Oversight Board
  • Timothy Hughes, digital creator and second vice-president of the NAACP Nashville Branch
  • Marshall Crawford, Army veteran and CEO of The Housing Fund
  • Shanera Williamson, podcaster and founder of The Brown Mama Bear Podcast

About Storytellers Project:
We can't wait to see you at one of our in-person or virtual shows this year! We promise a night of connection, laughter and catharsis. USA TODAY Network journalists have curated an event we believe will make you feel better about yourself, and your community.

At Storytellers Project, we help people tell true stories about who they are, what they do, and why it matters. Since 2016, at hundreds of shows with thousands of tellers, we connect people and communities to drive change.

Storytellers Project is a nationwide series of live storytelling events featuring neighbors and notables sharing personal stories. What makes us unlike any other storytelling event is that USA TODAY Network journalists curate and coach the tellers to develop stories that serve their communities.

We are dedicated to creating empathy across America. Nashville Storytellers Project is produced from the newsroom of The Tennessean and tennessean.com.
