To Our Supporters of Laces for Lisa, As we are all aware, our communities are currently facing a public health crisis. Since the Laces for Lisa 5K is about a month away, we've decided we can only do what's best for everyone and cancel the actual event yet offer the opportunity to participate in a virtual 5K walk/run. Each virtual walker/runner will receive a t-shirt and race medal through the mail. We will get these out as soon as possible but want to be sure to let as many people register as we can, so it will likely be after April 18th. Together we have raised and donated over $50,000 through the nonprofit lacesforlisa and Lisa's Memorial Fund. If you feel led to donate or register we certainly appreciate the chance to continue to support the charities and improvements for Phase 2 of Lisa's Trail. If you prefer to receive a refund, please e-mail lacesforlisa@gmail.com. We hope to have an official dedication of Lisa's Faith and Fitness Trail in Lafayette at a later date. We will keep all of you posted. It is a hard decision as we all want to continue to have the gathering both in rememberance of Lisa and to continue her good works. I am sure Lisa would tell us that she is happy we celebrate her love of running and her desire to do good, but I think we all know that she would not want to risk the health of anyone or even hold an event in her name that could pose a health risk.
