The course starts at Heavenly Mountain Resort California Base Lodge. From here it heads up a short distance on surface streets and then turns onto to an epic section of fire-road featuring stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra. The starting elevation is 6540' and the finish is near the new Tamarack Lodge at 9150'. That's 2610' vertical, two states, and 6 miles of an awesome mountain course.
