The in-person portion of the event will be at Cleveland Central Catholic's Stefanski Stadium on Saturday, August 14th beginning at 9am. Pick up your shirt and swag bag, take a walk around the track and enjoy coffee and a donut with our team.
The Walk Home runs from August 1- 31, 2021, however registration closes on Sunday, August 22!
The Haven Home compassionately serves under-resourced women with children by empowering sustainable independence. To accomplish this mission, we provide emergency shelter, asset-building programs, and community outreach.
Emergency shelter in the form of overflow shelter is provided for female-led families who are waiting on a room at a local family shelter that is already at capacity. Our shelter program provides them a single room, 3 meals a day, laundry room, playroom and access to clothing, toiletries and more. In 2020, 588 families received shelter.
Asset-building programs help women with children network with other successful women who have overcome obstacles in their lives and attend educational and therapeutic programs to help them move forward into long-lasting housing. In 2021, art therapy for children was added to the program offerings.
Since May 2020, we have connected with the community by providing a monthly diaper giveaway that assisted 451 families outside of shelter with 12,300 diapers. Clothing and basic needs were provided to 190 different individuals and 60 families received Christmas gifts in December 2020 in response to an unprecedented number of requests for help.
