2020 Blitzen the Dotte Virtual 5K
November 26 - December 6, 2020

The Blitzen the Dotte Fun Run/Walk has been a fall tradition for over 12 years. Thousands of runners and walkers have participated in this fun November event over the years to help raise money for the youth rowing programs sponsored by the Wyandotte Boat Club.

We wanted to continue the run/walk this year but due to concerns on social distancing and crowd gatherings dictated by government, we have decided to make the 2020 Blitzen the Dotte a virtual event.

What does that mean? You can still help the WBC rowing programs, get a run/walk in, and receive a Blitzen shirt without coming downtown Wyandotte for the race.

All registrants will receive a commorative "Blitzen", two-color, long sleeve Tech shirt, congratulatory finisher e-certificate, and ability to upload photos from your virtual event.

The virtual run, works like this. Register for the event, go out on your own between Nov. 26, 2020, and Dec. 6, 2020, do your walk/run, or even go on a treadmill, record your time, and submit to the race website. Once completed you can stop by the WBC or have your t-shirt mailed to you. You will be able to see how you compare to the other participants.

Tech shirts will be available for pickup in the WBC Lounge starting on Tuesday, December 8th through Friday, December 11th from 5:00 PM EST to 7:00 PM EST.

An idea would be to get your run/walk in before or after Thanksgiving dinner, so you might not feel as guilty going for the second helping from the dessert table!

While nothing beats a run/walk with the crowd on a Saturday morning before the parade, this is the next best thing to keep everyone safe so that we can all get back to a normal event next year.
