2020 Día de los Muertos - Run of the Dead
This year’s Run of the Dead is a week-long virtual run beginning on Saturday, October 31, 2020 through Saturday, November 7, 2020.  The ROTD celebrates the Mexican holiday of “Dia de Los Muertos” and the Christian observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Every registrant will receive a ROTD swag bag with a commemorative ROTD t-shirt, bib and ROTD medal.

This annual event supports the SDBA Center of Music & Performing Arts-Southwest (COMPÁS) to encompass the flourishing arts culture of Southwest Detroit. Providing year-round, youth-focused and culturally relevant arts, recreation, and educational opportunities at its professional quality studio, COMPÁS serves up to 200 youth annually. COMPÁS is the only music and arts program serving the growing Spanish-speaking immigrant population in Detroit. Its curriculum includes Traditional Polynesian Dancing, Flamenco, Mexican Folkloric dance, Traditional Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Ballet, Music Ensemble, Visual Arts, Acoustic and Electric instruments, Percussion (both Modern and Afro-Cuban), Hip-hop, and Vocal Training.
